How does our light turn on when we flick the switch?  What makes our doorbell ring?  How does our garage door open when we push the button?  Electrical circuits are everywhere.  They are a product of our modern world.

Since Alessandro Volta invented the first battery in 1800 (InfoSpace LCC, 2015) circuits were created initially as a system of lighting.  It was first used in the United States at the Pearl Street Station in downtown Manhattan. It provided a few square blocks of the city with electric power, primarily for illumination. (InfoSpace LCC, 2015).  Electrical energy is everywhere and is now used to control light, sound and movement in everyday objects.

In this Web Quest you will explore electrical energy and how they control light, sound or movement.  You will look at some everyday objects and explore and investigate a simple circuit.
